The last two days I have gotten up at 5:00 in the morning without an alarm clock. (Although this morning I probably woke up at 5:00 b/c I went to bed at 8:00pm last night - I was tired.) At least it gives a reason to get online to see who is up and talk to people back home. It is nice.
Today I went to school for the first time. The walk wasn't too bad at all, no farther than any where I've had to walk in Kent. Although it was raining so that was kind of poopy, but it wasn't overly bad. My shoes did get wet though and I had wet feet all day. Oh well. My office is amazing! One office all to myself and the best part is it is HUMUNGAS! It even has a little sink and mirror in it and lots of cupboard space. I will be sure to take pictures of it sometime so I can show you what it looks like. I think it may even be bigger than my bed room! (Kind of sad actually!) Other than going to my office and working on things for school today I didn't really do a lot. I have my own phone in my office and it has already rang 5 times. 4 of the times I knew who was calling and they spoke English. The other time, it was some random Japanese guy that I couldn't understand. (I am glad Diane was in my office at the time so she could talk to him in Japanese.) She told me to tell him that he has the wrong number, I was sitting there thinking, yeah I will tell him that but he will have no idea what I am saying! We got it figured out though!
Tomorrow I start teaching. I am figuring out what books I need. I am going to have to leave a couple hours early just so I can figure out where the room is I teach in. They are all numbered - but I don't know where they are located! Hopefully I can find them!
I have written down so many notes today that I won't remember them all. Thursday I have to sign my contract and meet the dean. Kiuchi is going with me though so he can translate for me.
I also need to get my Alien Registration figured out too. That means I have to figure out what train I need to catch, figure out how to buy a ticket (the right one would be great), get on the train, and make sure I get off at the right stop, and then find the right building I need to go to and hope they speak English when I get there.
That is all I have for now. Pictures of the office are coming soon!
