Yesterday I did the 4 mile bike ride with a little shopping in between, today I did the 2 mile hike there did a little shopping (didn't buy anything either time except for food) and then caught the bus back - there was no way my legs were going to make it the other 2 miles back. Well, that and both time I have gone there the same exact way, but once I start walking around down town I get so turned around and lost that I can't find my way back to the beginning. I am lucky I remembered how to get to the bus stop and catch the bus. After the bus ride I had to walk back to campus to pick up my bike which I rode to school this morning, and then ride the bike home, my legs definitely got a work out.
A little about my shopping trip today though. The first place I went was this really big craft store. They had a lot of material there. It was amazing. The patterns are all in Japanese but I am sure if I tried hard enough I could figure something out, I would just have to buy a sewing machine. (Speaking of sewing machines there is one in the house, but it belongs to the boyfriend of one of the girls who live here and he was really surprised to learn that I know how to sew - neither of the other girls I live with do.) So that store is pretty cool, I will definitely have to go back. They also have a lot of yarn and other things too, I can't wait to look around some more. Then the next shop I went to was a book store. They have an English section, but man them books are expensive. Books that you would pay 6 dollars in the US cost 12 dollars here. I will not be buying any new books here, maybe used, but none from that store - they just aren't worth it. I will have people send me books or have my mom and dad bring me some when they come visit, but I will not be buying a 6 dollar book for 12 dollars here. Oh and I went to starbucks today. Yes they have starbucks, yes they use the same good ol' starbucks language, and yes it tastes exactly the same. Other than those three places I didn't go anywhere else while in town.
At school I had my 5 class for the first time today. It wasn't too big - about 16 students. They seemed like a good bunch. They talked and laughed more than a couple of my other classes, so that was good. Other than that, I didn't really do anything today.
